I would suggest looking into Burton boards.
there flexible and smooth to ride.
all my boards are Burton and I love them.
and with a burton board, you should get Burton bindings because the holes in the burton boards were designed for burton bindings.
and have you ever boarded before? if not i wouldnt buy a board for your first time, rent one if you have to and ask for help when looking for a board.

I’m on a pretty low budget, but I want a freestyle park snowboard so bad! I saw a package with a 2008 Lamar Tripper 154cm with MX 150 bindings, and I also saw a package with a 2008 Lamar Cruiser 154cm with MX 150 for around the same price. I weight like 155lbs if that helps anything, but what I really need to know– Are either of those two boards good freestyle boards? or are they more freeride or what? Please help! Thanks

hey dude…call the store that has these packages, and ask them what is better for freestyle, or check out lamar’s website, and they should have some rating system that shows if their good for freestyle or freeride. But if you have around 300-400$ i recommend buying a burton board and bindings. Many snowboard shop are selling 07-08 burtons on clearance for good prices..I just got an 08 burton bullet board and burton custom bindings for 326$

So i need a little help here guys.
i have two choices laid out before me.

I like park riding a lot. but i still kick it in the back country every once in a while. for the longest time i’ve been using crappy rental snowboards and i decided time to get my own.

so you tell me which of these burton boards is better for park and occasional power riding. do not suggest any other boards, just tell me which one is better for my need.

Burton dominant 2009
or
Burton operator 2009

which one would suit my needs better?

also. what is the difference between mountain freestyle and park?

Operator is the one that more suits your needs.

man are you overpaying with burton. well thats ur choice

Park = rails, boxes, kickers

Mountain freestyle = buttering, ground tricks, etc… (probably includes park as well)

(95% sure thats the difference)

would the burton junior freestyle snowboard bindings 07 08(youth size) fit on the rome label 09 youth freestlye snowboard-142cm? do all bindings fit on all boards?

Well it depends (burton really makes things confusing with gear) Burton only 3 hole baseplates and every single other company uses 4 hole baseplates, including rome. Do you have the bindings? if you do look to see where you would screw it into a board, are there 3 holes, or 4? if there are 3, then look in the box you got them in to see if there are replacement baseplates. If you don’t have or do not know if they come with 4 hole baseplates, then call up burton cause they will most likely ship you some for free

thanks alot =D

You need a large size binding if u get burton bindings, and go with the 148 if u gonna get that board…you cant go to the 144 bc ur feet are too big (thats what burton recommends anyway)

yeah that board should be good for u, i just read the info bout it and it would work good for you, if your going to do park and rails i would recommend a different board, one thats shorter but since you just started its okay

and that link is broken but you can just look burtons site to find it, not that hard

Okay, so i just started snowboarding this season (3 trips) and i totally fell in love with it. i’m planning on buying a board and gear for next season, so i did my research. for now, i am still riding down the intermediate trails, but i eventually plan to hit the harder slopes and the parks. since i don’t want to buy super expensive gear, my online research suggested the Burton Clash(board), the Freestyle boots, and the Custom Bindings. Have you ever used any of these products, and if so, how well do you think they would fit my situation?

avoid burton…if it matters to you…any respectable snowboarder with any relevance in skill will look at you as a poser (unless it’s the OLD burton from the early to mid 90′s before burton sold out). and if you’re trying to avoid expensive gear…you HAVE to avoid burton all together…they are the most overpriced, poor quality, over-rated gear on the market. I’d trust a no name brand before I’d trust burton. Scrap your board, and binding selection. First things first…do you want to stick to the mountains or do you eventually want to make your way to the park. DO you want a stiff boots, because if you ever go to the park you’ll want a mid to low flex boot. and for bindings…the burton customs are over-rated.

You pick your equipment based on how you plan to snowboard. If you are going to remain freestyle for the life of the board go with a reputable brand like morrow, k2, ride, GNU, forum, etc. Boots, Vans and 32′s are the most comfortable..and if you want a more custom fit for a little more money get the focus boa’s. Finally for bindings…if strap-ins are the way you want to go…try to k2 cinch or anything by tech9, ride. They have better quality than your mainstream "i just snowboard for the name and the looks" burton.
